ABOUT the performers:
David Chin graduated with Bachelor of Music degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Piano Performance from Liberty University and was awarded both Outstanding Music Student and Keyboard Student of the Year in May 2010. David is a member of the Tau Sigma National Honors Society. While at Liberty University, David was appointed as the music director of Timothy International Student Chorale (2009-2010). He has been a member of the Liberty University Chamber Singers (performed under the batons of David Wiley, Steven White, and Wayne Kompelien), performed in the 2009 Honors Recital, 2010 Piano Showcase, and is the 2009 Liberty University Concerto Competition winner. He has been awarded full-scholarship by Eastman School of Music to pursue his Master of Music Degree in Choral Conducting beginning in fall 2010.

Hong- Da Chin is currently studying at University of Houston, Texas, majoring in music composition under Dr. Rob Smith and taking flute lesson with Ms. Jennifer Keeney.
Hong-Da was selected as the first chair flutist for the Texas Community College Band Directors’ Association All-State Symphonic Band in 2008 and 2009. He was also the winner of the TCCBDA concerto competition and performed as the featured soloist with the band at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio in 2008. Hong-Da was also selected as Del Mar College Outstanding Music Student in the academic year of 2007-08 and 2008-09. In 2009, he was selected as the first chair flutist for the Small College Intercollegiate Band and performed at College Band Directors National Association National Conference at the University of Texas Austin: Butler School of Music. Recently, Hong-Da has won some awards including winner of Denise Jennings Solo and Ensemble Competition (undergraduate division), recipient of Howard Pollack Scholarship Endowment in Memory of Darryl Wexler and winner of Sarofim Composition Contest (undergraduate division). Hong-Da is commissioned by Ms. Jennifer Keeney to write a flute duet and a trio (flute, mezzo-soprano and piano) and both pieces will be premiered next year. He is also commissioned by AURA Contemporary Ensemble, a student ensemble group directed by Dr. Rob Smith, to write an ensemble piece and will be premiered November this year.
